We have been commissioned by the personal representatives of the Estate of Josephine Wilkinson Gould to sell at public auction the remaining contents of her Camden Maine homes along with storage units over a 2-day period to the highest bidder with no reserves. Josephine was a very interesting lady with a wide range of tastes, art, sculptures, antiques, along with high quality collectibles, new and old. Being the great granddaughter of the famed author Mary Mapes Dodge there are very interesting family items including bronzes of both Mary Mapes Dodge and her son James Mapes Dodge both done by Samuel Aloysius Murry 1869-1941 and cast at the Roman Bronze Works, a portrait of James Mapes Dodge by Arthur Meltzer 1893-1989, an English chair used by Mary Mapes Dodge, other bronzes by family member Josephine Kern. Highlights: Writing arm Windsor chair, replica set of famous diamonds, lots of author signed books from Mary Mapes Dodge including, Kipling, Whittier, Elizabeth Custer and many more, you’ll love the books. Good furniture and several hundred objects to sort into tray lots, some wonderful china, lots of animal sculptures in bronze, porcelain and pottery, great carved stone fish, 100+ framed prints and paintings and the list goes on and on. This will be a fast paced 2-day auction you won’t want to miss!!!!!
