Rare half plate daguerreotype of Jenks Tavern in Spencer, Mass., 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" in gutta-percha frame; another quarter plate daguerreotype of Jenks Tavern in original cloth case; Jenks Tavern was famous for George Washington staying there when he toured New England in 1789. Washington commented in his diary about "Jenks keeps a pretty good tavern". Both images are directly from the William C. Watson family. Watson was the last owner of the tavern that burned in 1868; Silas Hoadley Grandfather clock fresh from a Vinalhaven home; "Home Clarion" black iron kitchen cookstove, all original with water tank; 19th c. sheet metal running horse weathervane; American Milk Company wooden toy wagon with horse; roadside sign in yellow paint, 12" x 6', "9 Miles to Studley's"; wooden plaque with whale by Bernard Langlais; carved whalebone Eskimo with ivory faces, 10" tall; scrimshaw whale's tooth with ship; two large tray lots of stereo-view cards; Maine Central Railroad covered firkin in old green paint; rare oversized Bennington doorknob; early 19th c. dovetailed knife box; 19th c. desk box with ink bottles; "Crowley's Needles" spool cabinet with two drawers; rare 19th c. wire mouse trap; Lots more!!!
