Nautical Paintings ~ Items

It’s a rare occasion when you get two of the best marine paintings to come to the Maine market in one auction. We will offer a large 30” x 40” watercolor of the schooner K. C. Rankin of Rockland, Maine painted in 1873 by Jergen Frederick Huge [1809-1878], (this painting has never been out of the family), along with an oil on canvas of the schooner R. Bowers, Thomaston, Maine by William P. Stubbs [1842-1909], from the original Thomaston Feyler family, along with a photograph of the owner standing at the wheel, painted in 1880. Also an early watercolor by William Marsh [1810-1860], circa 1840; mixed media on paper by Albert Merchant [1881-1936] of the schooner Red Jacket, 10” x 12”; plus some good nautical items.
