Graphite drawing of Dudley “Dud” Rockwell, “Keeper
of the Olson House”, by Andrew Wyeth (1917-2009).
Dudley was Andrew’s brother-in-law and dear friend. Image
size 12” x 14”; graphite study of the schooner Stephen
Taber titled “Carring Wood” by Andrew Wyeth ,
12” x 16”. Both drawings are directly from the Rockwell
family, fresh to the market. Watercolor seascape with ship by John
William Hill (1812-1879), 5” x 9”; o/c ship’s
portrait of the coastal schooner Rundett by S. G. McFarland,
1894 , 12” x 16”, in original condition;
double portrait of Benjamin Burt and Elisabeth Ketcham, Bellvale,
N.Y., circa 1840, in original frame, 28” x 42”, recently
preserved; w/c by Charles G. Copeland (1858-1945),
12” x 16”, titled “Phloe and Monkshood 1927”;
also two (2) small watercolors by Copeland believed
to be his first by note on the back by Copeland himself; reverse
painting on glass by William Mathew Prior (1806-1873)
in original frame, 16” x 20”; o/c British ship portrait,
24” x 36”, unsigned and restored - a truly beautiful
painting; three (3) paintings from the Rockwell family
by Merle D. James , (Sunday painter and father of Betsy
James Wyeth) that we believe to be the first public offering
of any Merle James paintings. They are as follows: O/B, 16” x
20”, titled “Sawing Wood”, w/c, 11-_” x
15-_”, titled “Box Canyon - Arizona”, and a
w/c, 14” x 19-_”, titled “Mesquite Grove -
Arizona”. Folk Art oil by Nadine Hake Buck with
children playing in a farmhouse., etc., 20” x 24”;
shadow-box diorama by Denny Winters , 16” x
16”; Maine coast seascape oil, 12” x 16”, by Parker
Gamage ; w/c by William N. Wilson of
a Vermont sugarhouse in winter, 12” x 16”, on board;
w/c of crowd gathering outside a wrestling area by Peter
